This
is an experimental cross with the blue lipped equestris (var cyanochilus).
The hope is that we'll get some coerulea flowers out of this cross.
But the probability of any of these coming out blue is very low.
At the very least these will be some nice lavenders. |

We are periodically making more of this cross available. This is a sib cross made with
two cultivars of equestris var cyanochilus. It was made
in hopes of increasing the blue pigmentation. We have not bloomed
any of these out yet, so we don't really know if these will bloom
the same as their parents or something improved.
Both
parents look almost exactly the same. There is some debat as to
the origin of all of the var cyanochilus that are in the US and
its possible they are all the exact same cultivar. If that's the
case, then this would be considered a sib cross and its more likely
these will look like thier parents and have will have less variety
between the resulting seedlings.
Our
hope is that we will end up with some more saturated cyanochilus
that can be used for further blue breeding. |
